Amazon has completed a study and finds strong demand for AI talent, and the potential for workers with AI skills to earn up to 47% more in salaries!
That’s almost a 50% increase in income!
I find that very exciting!
There’s something I want to show you:
I did a search here on Indeed.com and searched for ‘GenAI’ across the country.
Now this search input is really important. I got similar results with searches like ‘Generative AI’.
These are the new skills that hardly anyone has. The need for these skills will grow substantially.
Every day you hear where a company is producing a new and amazing Generative AI Model.
I then chose the highest pay group which is $200,000 per year:
I scrolled through here to look at some of the jobs. Here is engineering leader and the top of the range here is $410,000.
That’s a pretty good salary!
Here is a tech lead, machine learning, and the top of that range is $358,000 per year.
There are a lot of nice jobs in here for directors and those kind of roles as well. Here’s a senior director global readiness AI. The top of that range $275,000 a year.
Here is a senior machine learning engineer for $266,000 a year.
Here is a machine learning engineer / MLOps architect for $313,000 a year on the top range.
These are really good salaries!
Yes, some of these roles are leadership roles, but that indicates the building out of teams and those teams will be staffed with all levels of engineers.
If you compare these with salaries for traditional Software Engineers or traditional DevOps Engineers, these salaries are at least 1 and 1/2 times that amount, and I would say even more.
Right now, at the time of this writing, the economy is not in very good shape. I saw a report the other day to indicate the job market hasn’t been this flat since 2014. I expect it to improve before long and when it does, we’re going to see even bigger opportunities than what I’m showing you here.
We’re just at the beginning of Generative AI and I am seeing an opportunity here that is going to grow.
